About Skogs Vatten farm
‘Forest Water’ is an original Scandinavian settler farm at 40 Mile Bush in the northern Wairarapa, nestled at the foot of the eastern side of Pukaha Mount Bruce. As the current guardians we have set our sights on rejuvenating and enhancing the farm while preserving its beauty and heritage for future generations to enjoy.
Skogs Vatten Farm equine facilities are continually developing; from a purpose built corral, arena, day yards, all weather tracks, and forest trails, to off grid camping sites for horsey (and non horsey) retreats.
Our horses play a huge role in life at Skogs Vatten Farm. Alongside their expertise as the very best teachers, their soulful companionship and the simple joys they bring, the herd also enhances the bio-diversity of the farm, helping to nurture its pastures and gardens, completing the cycle of life.
We look forward to sharing Skogs Vatten Farm, 40 Mile Bush & Equine Park with you soon.
My Story
As a horse mad child I found myself without the opportunity to learn the basics. Pony Club was not an option and owning my own horse merely a dream. Horsing byDesign at SkogsVatten offers the support I wish I had earlier in my horse journey.
I am eternally grateful for the mentors and teachers I have had along the way who inspired me to dive deep into horse physiology and psychology, whilst learning the practial aspects of horsemanship, allowing this to be added to my years in the human health and science industry.
With decades of experence teaching and mentoring I bring a well developed approach in helping learners (both human and animal) achieve their goals in a safe, relaxed and fun environment. As ‘guide on the side’ I support students to find in themselves more than they ever thought possible.
